Walk – Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont
Meet at one of two places:
- Carpool* from our regular location at 1501 Page Mill Rd, Palo Alto at 9:30 am
- At Ardenwood Historic Farm (opens at 10 am) at 34600 Ardenwood Blvd, Fremont, CA 94555
If you are unable to carpool, take Hwy 84 across the Dumbarton Bridge to exit 37 for Newark/Ardenwood Boulevard in Fremont. Turn left onto Ardenwood Boulevard, cross the exit ramp from 84 southbound, and then immediately enter Ardenwood Historic Farm at the next right turn. Park near the entrance station.
Meet the group just after paying your entry fee of $3. The planned route is to take every right fork around the center of the farm. This route passes one of the cornfields where Jim Holl will display two colorful corncobs that were picked at the farm. This route will also pass the building where the trains are stored. The route continues to the center of the farm where the Patterson House is located. Animals seen on the December visit were a cow, sheep, chickens, goats, a peacock, and a wild turkey.
The group will eat their lunches together at the end of the walk.
