The HPREC Camping Group is a subset of the HPREC of Oregon. Any member of the HPREC can be a voting member of the camping group by stating their desire to be a member and attending camp outs and meetings. Any HPREC member can be a member and join in on the camp outs, some come and stay in motels, others bring their grand kids who “love to pitch tents.” The camping group operates as a majority rule group. The group has its own elected officers, elected for a two year term. The current officers are:
- Wagon masters
- Blair Nicholson
- Ken Parker
- Secretary/Treasurer – Rita Pinard
- Special Committees as appointed by the Wagon master
The camping group exists for the pleasure of its members. Its purpose is to develop friendships and provide entertainment for its members and invited guests through camping activities.
- Members will host or be a co-host for camping outings.
- No dues are required, however fundraisers may be held to earn money for the group.
- Deposits to hold sites will be made from the HPREC Club by the group treasurer until commitments can be obtained (including deposits) from those wishing to attend an outing.
- Destinations include State Parks, County Parks and privately owned campgrounds. Winter outings need to be booked in campgrounds/RV Parks with a heated recreation/meeting room
- Camp out destinations are usually within 2-3 hours of Corvallis, but they are not limited to this.
As Camping outings are scheduled, information will be included in the HPREC Newsletters . You may also find updated information on the Activities page.
