El Corte de Madera Creek Park Hike

As part of our new COVID-19 protocols, hikers must sign up on our NEW myHPREC website in advance and supply their emergency contact information electronically.  This is necessary to avoid close contact on the day of the hike and to make sure the maximum of number of hikers for each session is 20 (including the hike leader).

El Corte de Madera is located south of Skyline Boulevard above  Woodside. With its mixed forests and sections of second-growth   redwoods it has some of the best hiking trails of the Bay Area.

The hike will follow the Sierra Moreno and Tafoni Trails to an interesting sandstone formation where we will have our lunch. The Fir and Methusala Trails bring us back to the Sierra Moreno Trail and the parking lot. The hike will be mostly through shaded areas.

Meet at the new carpool location* (see end of this article) where we will form carpools if you are fully vaccinated. The drive to the main parking lot at 16040 Skyline Blvd. takes about 30 minutes.

The El Corte de Madera Creek Park main parking area is one mile south of Skeggs Point parking and 2.7 miles north of Highway 84 (La Honda Road) on Skyline Boulevard.

If you want to cancel your reservation/sign up:
Call or send an email message to the event leader and inform the leader of your cancellation.  (kpm5000@aol.com or call Klaus Model at 617-515-6895)
