As part of our new COVID-19 protocols, walkers must sign up on our NEW myHPREC website in advance and supply their emergency contact information electronically.  This is necessary to avoid close contact on the day of the walk and to make sure the maximum of number of walkers for each session is 10 (including the walk leader).

Meet at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park: From Highway 17 south exit onto Mt. Herman Road (exit 3) west (turn right towards Felton) and go 3.5 miles to Graham Hill Road (where road ends), turn right for 0.2 mile to the next stop light (Highway 9).  Turn left on Highway 9 and go through downtown Felton for 0.7 mile to the entrance of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.  Turn left into the park and proceed to the Park Entrance Station.  The entrance fee is $10 per vehicle (bring your annual pass if you have one).  We will gather for our hike of the Redwood Grove Loop Trail near the visitor center.  This trail is 0.7 mile long.  A short walk to Roaring Camp Railroads can easily be added.

This walk is through a Redwood Forest and includes the historic John C. Fremont Tree.  Restrooms are available at the parking area, at the Fremont tree and at Roaring Camp Railroads.
