Flower Piano, San Francisco

Meet at one of two places:

1. Carpool* from our regular location at 1501 Page Mill Rd, Palo Alto at 9:10 am.
2. San Francisco Botanical Garden Main Gate, 1199 9^th Ave, San Francisco at 10 am. Buy your ticket (if any) at the Main Gate and meet inside the gate.

Flower Piano is a special event at San Francisco’s Botanical Garden.  Twelve pianos are placed in the garden to be played by volunteers.  The garden covers 50 acres of Golden Gate Park with plants from around the world.  There are three different cloud forests, a redwood grove, succulents, and more.  We plan to see and hear many of the pianos.

Driving directions: Take I-280 to 19^th Avenue, San Francisco. Turn right at the first street after Lincoln Way onto Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, which becomes 9th Avenue.

Parking is easy on a Wednesday.  Hopefully, parking will continue to be free as charging for all parking in Golden Gate Park is being discussed as a way to balance the city budget. On Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, the first entrance you see on your right is the North Gate or Friend Gate.  Continue along Marin Luther King Jr Drive/9^th Avenue to the Main Gate, also on your right.
