The walk starts at 10 am; the carpools leave at 9 am.
Meet at the carpool location* and plan to leave by 9 am. Or if you would like to meet at the walk site, form your own carpool and meet at the Moraga Tiled Stairway at 16th Avenue and Moraga Street in San Francisco. Please take the direct route via 19th Avenue, turn right at Ortega Street (76 Station), drive up the hill to 16th Avenue and turn left past the Storybook Cottages on your left. Please park near Moraga Street. Please resist the urge to bypass the 19th Avenue traffic. One driver’s shortcut delayed our group by 30 minutes.
There are no restrooms at the first stop, so consider using the Father Serra Rest Stop on I-280. Everywhere we will park is designated a high-risk area for daylight vehicle break-ins. Plan to take your valuables with you. After the group explores the Moraga Steps, we will walk the short distance to the Hidden Garden Steps. As we move our cars to the Sutro Baths parking area, we will drive past the Lincoln Park Tiled Steps. There is little parking near these steps, so the drivers will need to remain with their cars as the others do a quick walkabout. At the parking area above the Sutro Baths, the restrooms are entered from outside the Visitor Center.
