Meet at Linda Vista Park in Cupertino. The driveway to the park is between 11107 and 11117 Linda Vista Dr. From I-280, exit at Foothill Boulevard and turn south toward the hills. After nearly a mile, drive across Stevens Creek Boulevard (the second light), and then after a half mile turn left onto McClellan Road. As McClellan makes its own turns, bypass Clubhouse Lane and Tressler Court, then turn right onto Linda Vista Drive. At the stop sign, turn right onto Hyannisport Drive and then immediately left onto the continuation of Linda Vista Drive. Linda Vista Park will be on the right just as the road turns left. There will be no carpools.
Our hike leader lives in this neighborhood. As the group takes a loop around the park, he will describe how the park appeared when it was the best park in the city. We will then take the new trail to McClellan Road. We will see the back of each property along the way. On our return to the park, we will visit the front of many of these properties to see the differences.
The new trail extends the Stevens Creek Trail to the south, and the trail is expected to continue further south.
