Walk – San Jose Rose Garden

Meet At Dana Avenue and Naglee Avenue, San Jose, CA 95126, at 10 am.

Come out and smell the roses!  This 5.5-acre garden near downtown San Jose was once a prune orchard, but was bought by the City of San Jose in 1927 and officially dedicated in 1937.  It is now exclusively devoted to roses and features more than 3,500 shrubs representing 189 rose varieties.  In 2010, it was named “America’s Best Rose Garden.”  In addition to the garden, we will stroll along neighboring streets with grand homes.

Driving directions: From either direction on SR 880, exit at North Bascom, turn left at West Hedding, then right on Dana, and go two blocks to the garden.  Park on Dana, Naglee or Emory, but stay well away from the school across from the park.  Carpool if possible.  Meet at the entrance on Dana Street.

We will spend about one to one-and-one-half hours at the San Jose Rose Garden.
