Walk – Greg Brown Murals, Downtown Palo Alto
Meet at the Palo Alto Downtown Library. It is located at 270 Forest Ave., CA 94301, and it has public restrooms. One great place to park is in the Civic Center Parking at the City of Palo Alto City Hall, 250 Hamilton Ave, Palo Alto, 94301. It has free three-hour parking and is very near the Downtown Library.
We will walk around downtown Palo Alto to look at the Greg Brown Murals. See URL:
Greg Brown Murals – City of Palo Alto, CA.
We have never done this walk before.
Greg, who graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1969, created the murals from 1975 to 1976. They are fun and very whimsical. The murals feature the trompe l’oeil technique, in which the artist makes two-dimensional painting look three-dimensional.
Viewing the nine murals will give us a fun walk around downtown.
