Sunnyvale Community Services (SCS) needs five HP Retiree Volunteers at their Kern Avenue location to help pack dried goods that SCS can distribute to families. Our help is crucial.
SCS is an independent, nonprofit, emergency assistance agency. Their mission is to prevent homelessness and hunger for low-income families and seniors facing temporary crises. They provide financial aid, food and other support that prevents larger problems with more expensive solutions. You can help.
If you have had close contact with anyone that has a confirmed case of COVID-19 or with anyone who has been in isolation for COVID-19, please refrain from volunteering at this time.
Date & Time: | Wednesday, Dec 4, from 2 – 5 pm. . Please plan to arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes before start of shift to allow time to park and check in. |
Place: | Sunnyvale Community Services, 1160 Kern Ave., Sunnyvale, CA 94085 |
RSVP: | By Nov 23. SCS would like to know how many HPREC volunteers will be coming a week before the event so that they can make sure they have enough volunteers to fill that session’s quota of grocery bags. Please try to commit by Nov 23 to volunteer. |
Do NOT park in the Sunnyvale Community Services lot. Instead, park next door at Bosch (384 Santa Trinita Ave, Sunnyvale, CA 94085) along the row that shares a fence with Sunnyvale Community Services.
Entry: Once parked, the Volunteer Entrance is at the southeast corner of SCS’s building, near the exit from the parking lot. Enter through SCS’s middle warehouse doors. (Please avoid walking or cutting through SCS’s loading dock area as there is a steep 5-foot drop below.) Attire: Closed-toed shoes are required; please no high heels. Dress appropriately for the season as the work may be indoors or outdoors. Leave purses and bags locked in your trunk as SCS does not have secure storage space. |
