Volunteers Needed to Help with Science Fair

            (Science background not needed except for judging.)

HPARV invites you to help make this year’s Synopsys Science & Technology Championship a success. About 1,000 students will participate in the fair, and there are many ways you can get involved. We need more volunteers both days, so please join us if you can!

What: County-wide regional science fair for students in grades 6-12
Where: San Jose McEnery Convention Center, South Hall, San Jose
When: Wednesday, March 12, 2025: Student check-in and set-up
(Lunch provided)
8-11:30am, 11:30am- 6pm
(5-7:30pm — only a few volunteers needed)
When: Thursday, March 13, 2025: Judging
(Lunch provided)
9am-7:30pm with different time slots:
9am-5pm, 9am-1pm, 11 am-1pm, 1:30–6:30pm, 5-7:30pm
(Volunteers are needed around 9am to help set up judges.)

What’s Needed:

  1. General volunteers:
    • Wednesday: Help students through the registration process, help them find their assigned space to set up their projects, run errands, etc.
    • Thursday: Help register judges, monitor the hall during judging, etc.
    • Tasks can be sitting, walking or standing. Indicate if you have a preference.

  2. Judges:   If you have a degree in science, technology, engineering or math and are interested in judging, go to https://science-fair.org/judges-3/ and the Category Judging Registration to register as a judge
