Meet at Huddart County Park, 1100 Kings Mountain Rd., Woodside or at the carpool location at 1501 Page Mill Rd. *.
To go directly to Huddart Park, take Kings Mountain Road out of Woodside. The Huddart Park entrance road is on the right. Be sure to get a parking permit at the entry kiosk (no charge for seniors) to avoid getting ticketed; if there is no staff, use the self-registration on the right side of the road! Meet at the Zwierlein Picnic Area. The trailhead is to the right of the restrooms.
Huddart (San Mateo) County Park has about 1,000 acres of second-growth redwoods, tanoak, coast live oak, bay laurel and Douglas fir. It seems even larger, due to its extensive trail system and many picnic and recreation areas. This is a nicely shaded hike with a thick overhead canopy, so we’ll keep cool in the April climate!
