Sawyer Camp Trail South

As part of our new COVID-19 protocols, hikers must sign up on our NEW myHPREC website in advance and supply their emergency contact information electronically.  This is necessary to avoid close contact on the day of the hike and to make sure the maximum of number of hikers for each session is 20 (including the hike leader).

Last done by us in 2017, we will hike the south end of the Sawyer Camp Trail along Crystal Springs Reservoir.  This hike features shimmering water, views of mountains, waterfowl, deer, Dusky Footed Woodrat nests, lunch at the Jebson Laurel, and lots of bathrooms.  The entire route is paved.

Meet at the new carpool location* (see end of this article) or exit Highway 280 at Bunker Hill Drive and, if you have approached it from the south,  turn left over the highway. Turn right onto Skyline Boulevard.  The trailhead is about .75 miles on the left (just pass Crystal Springs Road and the dam).

If you want to cancel your reservation/sign up:
Call or send an email message to the event leader and inform the leader of your cancellation.  (leonaandjohn@att.net or or call John McCabe at 650-328-3472)
