As part of our new COVID-19 protocols, hikers must sign up on our NEW myHPREC website in advance and supply their emergency contact information electronically.  This is necessary to avoid close contact on the day of the hike and to make sure the maximum of number of hikers for each session is 30 (including the hike leader).

Meet at the HPQ carpool location* at 9:40 am.

If going directly to the hike site:

  • Take the Edgewood Road exit from I-280.
  • Head east toward Redwood City/San Carlos.
  • After 3/4 mile, turn left on Crestview Drive and then immediately left on Edmonds Road.
  • The parking lot is on the right and is labeled Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve.

Formerly the site of a tuberculosis sanitarium, the preserve provides trails for hiking and walking one’s dog.

If the shaded trails are passible, we will take the Dusky-footed Woodrat Trail.  If instead we need to stay on sunny flat trails, we will do that.

Address of Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve is 167 Edmonds Rd, Redwood City, CA 94062
