Meet at Huddart County Park, 1100 Kings Mountain Rd., Woodside or at the carpool location at 1501 Page Mill Rd. *.
If going directly to the hike site:
- Take Kings Mountain Road out of Woodside.
- The Huddart Park entrance road is on the right.
Be sure to get a parking permit at the entry kiosk (no charge for seniors) to avoid getting ticketed; if there is no staff, use the self-registration on the right side of the road! Meet at the Zwierlein Picnic Area. The trailhead is to the right of the restrooms.
We will hike a 5.3-mile loop: Crystal Springs Trail, Richards Road Trail, Crystal Springs Trail, and Dean Trail
Huddart (San Mateo) County Park has about 1,000 acres of second-growth redwoods, tanoak, coast live oak, bay laurel and Douglas fir. It seems even larger, due to its extensive trail system and many picnic and recreation areas. This is a nicely shaded hike with a thick overhead canopy, so it’s going to be cool in the February climate!
