Meet at the Enid W. Pearson Arastradero Preserve Parking Lot.
Do not meet at the carpooling location. Instead meet at the Arastradero Preserve parking area.
- From Hwy 280, go southwest (toward the mountains) on Page Mill Road. Go 0.5 miles.
- Turn right onto Arastradero Road. Go 1.2 miles.
- The Enid W. Pearson Arastradero Preserve parking area is on your right. There are restrooms by the parking area.
Enid W. Pearson–Arastradero Preserve is a 622 acres nature preserve that protects most of the Arastradero Creek watershed, including its ephemeral Mayfly Creek tributary. It also includes the upper reach of the Felt Creek tributary to Stanford’s Felt Reservoir. Wildlife that is not uncommon to see are deer, bobcats, coyotes, and many varieties of birds.
We have recently done some walks at the Pearson Arastradero Preserve; this will be a full hike. The trails that we will go on are nearly completely different. We will hike the rolling hills, valleys, and grasslands of this foothill ranchland. The hike will include oak- covered ridges and the Arastradero Lake.
